Finding the time to exercise can be difficult, especially with the fast-pace of life that many of us live. Often, the last thing we want to do after a hard day is hit the gym or go for a run. If we want to keep the weight off, however, it is often essential that we do find ways to burn extra calories. It’s either that or avoiding every tasty snack that you are offered and let’s face it that is not fun at all. Luckily, there are ways that you can fit in some exercise which are also fun. If it’s fun, you are much more likely to find the time for it. Here are our top 5 fun ways to keep the weight off.
1. Play with the kids
If you have children, why not incorporate exercise into your play with them? You will get to spend quality time with them, whilst also working at keeping weight off both them and you. Head outdoors, take a ball and play some games with them. You could even take them to the swimming pool and have some fun together in the water or to the tennis courts for a couple of games. Whatever you decide to do together, we guarantee that you will both love it and get so much out of it.
2. Try dancing
Nothing is more fun than getting out and hitting a dance class. We promise that you will laugh so much as you try and pick up new moves and that you will also make new friends. Dancing burns lots of calories, it’s great for getting fat off. Plus, with lots of styles to choose from, including Latin, ballroom, disco, belly dancing, African or country and western, we’re sure you will find a style to suit you and guarantee that you will never be bored.
3. Try Geocaching
Geocaching is all about searching for treasure. It involves you using a GPS signal to find a geocache that has been hidden, which usually includes a trinket and a logbook. It can be an incredibly addictive pastime and can be great at helping you stay fit, as players often have to hike to each geocache and there might often be some type of physical activity involved such as climbing. All you need is a device with a GPS signal and to find details of some geocaches local to you and you are good to go.
4. Martial arts
If you fancy learning some new skills, why not give martial arts a try? You will learn how to defend yourself in difficult situations and will burn some serious calories in the process. These classes are great for helping you lose weight and tone up, they often work muscles that you didn’t even know that you had. Martial arts classes happen everywhere, we’re sure that you can find one to suit your timetable. Whether you fancy trying Muay Tai, Taekwondo, Kung Fu or Karate, we’re sure that you will have a great time and that you will also feel like a badass as you learn how to take down an opponent.
5. Have a meeting on the go
Meetings are great for helping you to overcome problems at work but they are really not conducive to an active lifestyle. Sitting down at a desk all day is really bad for us. Why not change things up and see if you can arrange to head out of the office for your meetings? You could go for a walk around a nearby park or local beauty area. Who knows what you could resolve together whilst also getting fit?
