My family and I were invited to try out the new menu and take a look at the updated look at California Pizza Kitchen in Temcula, California. Since we are all big fans of CPK we were more than delighted to accept the invitation. Plate after plate was brought out to our table with incredible looking dishes that we couldn’t wait to dig into.
Temecula California Pizza Kitchen is one of the first in the county to get the “Next Chapter” makeover taking place at 80 CPK locations nationwide in 2015.
Some of the highlights of the new design and menu include:
- Sustainable materials, rustic décor, fabrics from recycled materials and a natural herb garden.
- A menu showcasing seasonal dishes, locally sourced ingredients and globally inspired flavors. New dishes include fire-grilled rib-eye and roasted halibut baked in the open-hearth oven.
And now a look at a few of the dishes from the new California Pizza Kitchen Menu:
Brussels + Bacon Flatbread
Roasted brussel sprouts with sweet carmelized onions, Neuske’s applwood smoked bacon, creamy goat cheese, Romano and cracked black pepper.
This dish was one of my favorites, it had great flavor and texture. The crunchy smoked bacon and carmelized onions was a great combination of flavor.
Shaved Mushroom + Spinach Flatbread
Cremini mushrooms, sautéed spinach, and california olive oil with Ramano and Paremsan
A vegetarian delight, my kids are vegetarian and this was their favorite dish. The mushrooms and spinach went great together and gave this flatbread a fantastic flavor.
Smoked Ham + Swiss Flatbread
Emmentaler and goat cheese with carmelized onions and smashed garlic croutons
This dish was gone in seconds once it hit the table, ham and swiss was a definite favorite in our group.
Sunny-Side up Bacon + Potatoe Pizza
Shaved fingerling potatoes, Nueske’s applewood smoked bacon, carmelized leeks, Parmesan, Mozzerela and fresh cracked black pepper. Topped with 2 sunny-side up eggs.
This unique dish was a pleasant suprise, I wasn’ sure what to expect with this dish as I’ve never had eggs on my pizza. However, it was one of the bests pizzas I’ve had a California Pizza Kitchen and will definitley be ordering it again.
Hearth Roasted Halibut
Wild caught halibut from the North Pacific, roasted on a cedar plank with grilled asparagus and butternut squash farro & baby kale.
I’m not a big seafood fan, but luckily my friend was more than happy to try out this dish and found it exquisite. This was his favorite dish of the night and kept talking about what a great dish it was.
Classic Crispy Chicken
Hand breaded chicken breast with fresh romain lettuce, roma tomatoes, pickles and mayo on a toasted sesame Ciabatta.
Yum! This sandwich was perfect and the taste was outstanding, they even brought out a french onion dip for the sandwich that made this fun to eat and even tastier.
Pumpkin Cheesecake
Served on a ginger crumb praline crust with fresh whipped cream and a drizzle of praline sauce.
And for dessert… An incredible pumpkin cheesecake that left you wanting more. Although it was rich and filling, the flavor of these cheesecake made you keep wanting to keep picking up that fork and diving in.
