I (well my daughter) was recently given the opportunity to review this AWESOME cash register from The Magic Cabin. If you haven’t checked out their site, it is a must to see! They have very unique toys for kids that are not your average plastic and common toys. These are higher quality toys, which in my opinion really inspire your child’s imagination. They have Waldorf dolls available on this site. A few of my friends and I made our own Waldorf style dolls this past Christmas for our children, so I guess I should say that I’m familiar with this “style” of toys for kids.

My almost 2 year old daughter was quite thrilled when the cash register showed up. I told her that inside the box was a toy, and she kept repeating toy? Toy? Toy? As in hurry up mom and open the box for me! She instantly fell in love with it – especially the fake debit/credit card. Whenever we go shopping and I swipe my real card, she too takes the card and pretends to swipe it. So now she has her own machine where she can swipe all day long.  Plus this cash register is wooden, so its higher quality that some plastic versions you might see in stores. The scanner has a horn on it so when kids press on items they are scanning, it “beeps.” The calculator really works! It also can make beeping noises when pressing the buttons.

My husband, who is an engineer, and is critical about how things are designed in general. He made a comment that it was a well designed toy, so for him to say that, it truly gets a thumbs up. He also heard the beeping from the calculator and was proud of his daughter already making some good calculations.
