Joy Williams “Venus” Album Review

“Acceptance. Transcendence. Trans-formation. Letting go of things that don’t serve you.”  These are the themes that tie Joy William’s new album “Venus” together according to the former Civil Wars band member.
Joy Williams has created a beautiful album with incredible music, collaborating with musical artists such as Justin Timberlake and Matt Morris.  Joy calls this her coming-of-age album, and her tracks are full of stories of discovery. She only picked songs for her album that felt authentic and truthful.
My favorite songs from the “Venus” album

  • Woman (Oh Mama) – I like the beat of this song – Empowering Lyrics about Woman.
  • Until The Levee- Trouble brewing in a relationship – “I’m going to stand here in the Levee until the Levee or my heart breaks” – Sometimes feeling the ache fully is the best thing you can do to get through heartbreak.
  • Welcome Home – Meeting that guy you’ve been imagining Ah! Welcome Home 🙂
