Book Review: Cinch by Cynthia Sass

Are you bringing in the New Year with the resolution to lose weight?  If so, you should definitely pick up Cynthia Sass’s new book Cinch.  I received a copy of the book to review from the One2One Network.

Any weight loss program that includes chocolate as a “must have” is a program that I would like to try.  This book is a very easy read and easy to understand.  I love that Cynthia doesn’t just tell you what foods you should eat she actually tells you why they are good for you and how they will help in your weight loss goals.

One of the neat things about this plan is that it includes a 5 day 5 food kick start to help you lose extra pounds before even starting her weight loss regiment.

Here are the 5 foods that will help you shed 7 pounds in 5 days:

  • Spinach
  • Yogurt ( Greek yogurt recommended)
  • Organic Eggs
  • Raspberries
  • Almonds

She has set up recipes that combine a little of each of these fat burning foods.  My favorite was the Spinach and Egg Scramble.  It contained no salt, just spritz of olive oil in the pan, and then crushed red peppers, and  ground black pepper for taste.  I was so surprised how wonderful this tasted!

The other great thing about this plan is that it is vegan and vegetarian friendly!  It includes recipes for meat eaters but has just as many recipes for those who are non-meat eating.  I have yet to start on the regular menu plan that is mentioned in the book.  Yet, I can not wait to start.  It is so packed with delicious, nutritious, filling recipes that won’t leaving you feeling starved.

With the mindset that you are making a lifestyle change, I feel this book could very beneficial to those seeking to lose weight.  This is a no calorie counting diet, just portion control and eating healthier.  The perfect way to shed some of those extra pounds.
