Album Review: Mary J. Blige “The London Sessions”

I am loving Mary J. Blige’s new album “The London Sessions”.  Her music has both hip hop and soul and the songs on this new album are reflective and full of feeling.

Here are the songs on her new album:

1. Therapy
2. Doubt
3. Not Loving You
4. When You’re Gone
5. Right Now
6. My Loving
7.Long Hard Look
8. Whole Damn Year
9 .Nobody But You
10. Pick Me Up
11. Follow
12. Worth My Time

“The London Sessions” was created while Blige was in London and incorporates the music scene she experienced while there.  She had many artist collaborate with her on this album including; Disclosure, Eg White, Emile Sandé, Jimmy Napes, Naughty Boy, SAM ROMANS and Sam Smith.

My personal favorites from this album are:

“Not Loving You”-  “There is only so much I can do, if you’re not loving you.”.. Love those lyrics, it’s so true.

“Right Now” – I love this song because it’s about not taking the guy back, how the relationship can’t be the same once it has ended.  I love how empowering that is. I also love the beat.

“Whole Damn Year” – This song has so much feeling.  It is about how long it took to get over heartbreak and how time was needed to trust again.
